It was the early 30's in Europe and the country was just coming out of its depression. The young boy's father was working at the largest zoo in Germany. The name of the zoo was Hagenbeck zoo. The first years were as an animal handler then the zoos top elephant trainer. Soon after he traveled with the circus that the zoo had ownership of. In the mid 30's, my parents were married and the zoo provided housing not far from the zoo. Later the young boy, 1938 to be exact, was born into these animal rich surroundings. Growing up with all types of animals and witnessing the horrors of war all over Europe. Traveling to numerous countries and living among its people.
