Drifter Jared Kane saves a man he finds dying in the desert, not realising that it will change his life completely. For Foulard is obsessed with one goal: to get his hands on a fortune in buried gold bars. Being without food, water, horse, tools or gun, however, he needs help. Suspicious of the man, yet tempted by the lure of gold, Kane agrees to accompany him to the town of Armijos, near Santa Fe, where the treasure is hidden.
